Guardrails: Physical x Sexual

guardrail 300x225 Guardrails: Physical x Sexual

I went to Buckhead Church today for the first time. I had heard good and bad things about it and just wanted to see what it was all about. In support of the good, the church is definitely more vibrant, hip, and engaging than your traditional place of worship. In defense of the bad, it seemed less of a biblical experience and more of a conference by some motivational speaker. Nonetheless, I enjoyed myself and the message was worth the time (only a 75min service).

Guard rail — system designed to keep people or vehicles from (in most cases unintentionally) straying into dangerous or off-limits areas

No one notices guardrails until someone hits one…and more often than not it’s a lifesaver. Now imagine if you had guard rails in other part of your life? Your relationship, your finances, your career, etc.

The sermon today focused on guard rails in your relationship…specifically to prevent you from succumbing to your sexual/physical drive. There are a few suggested guard rails for both married couples and single individuals that can incredibly help focus your attention on the “road” and not on the “scenery”

Holi 2010 [Photos]

On March 1st, people in India and other countries with large Hindu populations celebrated Holi, the Festival of Colors. A welcoming of Spring, Holi is celebrated as the triumph of good over evil. Hindu devotees and others enthusiastically drop their inhibitions, and chase each other in temples and through the streets, playfully splashing colorful paint, powder and water on each other. People also attend bonfires to commemorate the story of Prahlada, a Hindu figure and devout follower of Lord Vishnu who prevailed over his father and the demoness Holika with the power of his devotion. Collected here are a handful of images from this year’s Festival of Colors (34 images to be exact)
