I am going to help you step your game up for the spring/summer.

1. Keep your apparel simple

There’s nothing worse than wearing an outfit where you can’t move, drink, breathe, or think in 90 degree weather. This goes for casual and formal outings. Find a nice simple tee or polo and a pair of non-denim shorts for your daytime casual rendezvous. If you’re going out at night or for a formal engagement, wear the polo with a light blazer or wear a dress shirt (pastel color) and lossen up the first two or three button. It’s very hot…don’t do too much.

2. Light cologne

It’s hot, everyone is sweating and irritable…DO NOT come through with that deep tone, strong, suffocating cologne that you wore all winter. Women appreciate a guy who smells fresh/clean rather than a guy who smells like he’s desperately trying to hide his sweaty ball/pit funk.

3. Baby powder and 24hr deodorant

If you aren’t already using it year-round you BETTER use it when it gets hot. It doesn’t matter when you showered, the moment you leave the house your testicles will begin to sweat. If you’re a back sweater…throw some on your back. If you’re an uncontrollable pit sweater…throw some in there along with your deodorant.

4. Footwear

If you’re going out in the daytime just to hangout you should throw on some sneakers or some slide-on sandals (NO thong slippers! you are not Hay-soos…or one of the 12 disciples). You have some leeway here. Due to the fact that your apparel is simple, you can be a bit flashy with the sneakers…but simple sneaks will always be ok. If you’re going out to a formal engagement throw on some nice loafers. Laces and summer don’t go together. Think about it….if your laces come undone you’ll be sweating and lightheaded before you finish tying them. COMFORT is key here.

5. Accesories

Shades, tote bags, watches, wallet should all be areas in which you spend the majority of your money when it comes to dressing up. In the winter you can get away with not having a watch because everyone is wearing long sleeves. Don’t be that guy when it gets warmer. Your raggedy gym bag will not suffice when you’re heading out for a day of outdoor activities.

Thursday was Match Day, the annual rite of passage when medical school graduates at the nation’s 130 medical schools are assigned to a hospital for their post-graduate training. The students request the type of specialty they want to practice as well as their top preferences for where they’d like to train.

Summary: Family Care is on the rise…up 9% from last year. Internal Medicine rose only 3% despite increasing demand for internists. Out of the 5,000 offered IM positions, only 2,700 were filled by this year’s match class. The big boys, anesthesiology and radiology matched way over 90% of their positions.

On March 1st, people in India and other countries with large Hindu populations celebrated Holi, the Festival of Colors. A welcoming of Spring, Holi is celebrated as the triumph of good over evil. Hindu devotees and others enthusiastically drop their inhibitions, and chase each other in temples and through the streets, playfully splashing colorful paint, powder and water on each other. People also attend bonfires to commemorate the story of Prahlada, a Hindu figure and devout follower of Lord Vishnu who prevailed over his father and the demoness Holika with the power of his devotion.
