If you don’t know by now, I’m a Current TV fiend…and this is why. Segments like this make life better.

Rima Fakih, from Dearborn, MI was born in Lebanon and has been celebrated by Arab Americans as the first Muslim Miss USA. (Miss USA Julie Hayek, the 1983 winner, had Lebanese roots on her father’s side, but her win was not considered a first, perhaps because she was raised Christian in California.) Fakih has been reported to be the second Lebanese-American, the first Arab-American, the first woman of the Muslim faith and the first immigrant to win the Miss USA title.

And ofcourse, Miss USA is getting a lot of negative press for photos that surfaced with her participating in a pole dancing competition (which she won!) for a radio show in 2007. I honestly don’t think the pictures are that bad at all, and lots of women both old and young are participating in pole-dancing classes, etc nowadays. Plusssss the pictures that the pageant folks had the contestants take are farrrr more racy.

I was just asking myself the other day “WTH happened to Erykah Badu??”. I remember buying her single “On and On” back when buying singles existed. To my delight, she’s coming out with an album this week and the single “Window Seat” is pretty deep. I won’t dive into an explanation because I think it can be interpreted many ways, but you should definitely check out the video for the following reasons:

1) erykah badu has a single out

2) thought provoking theme

3) she strips throughout the video

4) she seems to have acquired a fatty in her hiatus from music

5) she ends up naked

What is going on!? REEBOK! The guy below, Chuck Liddell (ultimate fighter), and his fiancee (Heidi Northcott) are seen here exercising in the nude. The video leaked and ofcourse spread like wild fire. Terribly enough, the video is linked back to Chuck’s sponsor REEBOK!! who agreed to do the clip as a means of viral advertising. #fail

I actually can’t believe the Reebok commercials haven’t been removed by now. I guess everyone’s pushing the limits nowadays.
